Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson needs some revenge over Jose Mourinho for hurting his team’s title chances while at Chelsea in 2013-14.

Mourinho’s team recorded a 2-0 win in a game remembered for the slide of Steven Gerrard and went to Anfield.

But the Portuguese tactician’s wardrobe slowed the game down to success coming, with Liverpool ultimately finishing two points adrift of champion Manchester City.

“I’ll always remember the Chelsea game at Anfield when we dropped and we went for the title,” he told reporters. “It was difficult to view. We were on fire really as well as the way they played the sport, extremely slow, sat in, it had been quite clever from Jose. Throw-ins, goal-kicks, they were taking forever and that got everybody upset in the stadium.

“It worked with their benefit in the long run since they got the one that had a large impact on the title race for and the effect they got so I can never really forget that.”

“It was tactically, great from Jose,” he said. “He’s a great tactician, he is some sort of-class manager and he’s demonstrated that in the clubs he’s been at.”
