Yu Gi Oh! Trading Card Game creator Kazuki Takahashi died in a heroic attempt to save people on 4th July 2022.
The Japanese Coast Guard found his body floating 300 yards off the coast of Okinawa on 6th July. Since he was wearing snorkeling gear as his body surfaced, it was initially thought that he drowned while snorkeling. A rented car under his name with his driving license still inside out was found on the beach on the same day as well.
However, a new report by US Major Robert Borgeau surfaced a few days ago, giving a more detailed explanation of the events surrounding his death.
In his reports, he mentions the fact that they were all on a snorkeling trip on a boat when riptide currents hit. A woman and child were on the water at the time, which was noticed by another US soldier. After the US soldier jumped in to save them, Kazuki also dove into the water to help him out.
However, a few minutes later, the US soldier was safe and sound with the woman and child safe and sound. However, Kazuki did not surface. However, his body surfaced two days later, 300 yards off the coast of Okinawa, discovered by Japanese Coast Guards. “His body had mutilation marks done by sea creatures – probably by a shark,” said the coast guards after they found his body.
Kazuki Takahashi will be remembered as the man who created the popular Yu Gi Oh manga. The manga led to the creation of the Yu Gi Oh! Trading Card Game by Konami became the highest-selling trading card game of all time, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
